It’s two weeks since our very successful launch of the Creative Huddle

The first Creative Enterprises Hub Huddle was well attended, and participants enjoyed the event.  We were happy to see that we had understood the activities and topics that creative entrepreneurs wanted to engage with. We used this event as a ‘trial run’ for a typical monthly Huddle and it worked very well:

  • We started with a creative business showcase, where Sandile demonstrated how his humorous         t-shirt business works
  • Mvuyo next explained how Creative Enterprises Hub grew out of the international Creative Business Cup competition which champions creative businesses worldwide
  • Then Rick presented a Masterclass on innovative marketing for arts businesses
  • Marang introduced participants to an innovative method of active business networking.  This enabled arts entrepreneurs to get to know what one another has to offer so that we can promote each other’s businesses
  • Phuti led an exciting design sprint brainstorm session that produced a great list of some of the topics that people want us to cover in future Huddles:

Business skills

  • How to get more customers
  • Using social media effectively
  • Legal support for artists
  • Money management do's and don'ts
  • Costing and pricing your work
  • Applying for finance
  • Managing stress

Creative skills

  • Virtual Reality
  • Photoshop
  • Professional photography
  • Ethnic fabric prints
  • Creative coding

Creative Enterprises Hub is all about supporting one another’s creative businesses, so let’s each bring a new arts entrepreneur to the next Huddle in January
